HIV Prevention Medication and STI Prevention Medication
About STI Prevention
Many STIs produce no symptoms, so having no symptoms does not mean that you are not infected with an STI.
Oral sex also carries a risk of STI transmission, and even with no symptoms you can pass an infection on to others.
If there is a possibility of infection, early testing and, where necessary, treatment are required.
STIs can be prevented not only by using condoms correctly but also through the use of prevention medication and vaccine administration.
About STI Prevention Medication and Vaccines
We are now in an era in which the five major STIs — HIV, hepatitis B, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia — can all be prevented as follows, and at our clinic we can provide treatment, testing and prevention for all of them.
– HIV➡HIV prevention medication (PrEP and PEP)
– hepatitis B➡hepatitis vaccine
– syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia➡Doxy-PEP, gonorrhea (meningococcal B) vaccine
Vaccines that prevent STIs include the “hepatitis vaccine (types A/B)”, the “gonorrhea (meningococcal B) vaccine” and the “human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine”, and our doctors can explain all of them with specialist knowledge.
Our doctors can also give specialist explanations of ways to prevent recurrence in cases of recurrent vaginitis (vaginal candida / bacterial vaginosis).
PrEP
A prevention medication that reduces the risk of HIV infection when taken orally from (before) sexual activity or similar contact.
PEP
An emergency preventive measure that reduces the risk of HIV infection when taken orally within 72 hours (after) sexual activity or similar contact.
Doxy-PEP
A method of preventing syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia by taking it within 72 hours (after) sexual activity or similar contact.
STI Prevention Vaccine
We introduce vaccines that can be used for STI prevention, such as the hepatitis, gonorrhea (meningococcal B) and HPV vaccines, etc.
Prevention of Vaginitis
With vaginitis (vaginal candida / bacterial vaginosis), recurrence can be prevented through prevention medication and treatment.
Our Features
We have the following 5 features.
We provide care with attention to privacy, so please feel free to visit us with peace of mind.
Throughout all of our consultation hours, physicians certified by the Japanese Society for AIDS Research can provide specialist explanations and prescriptions of HIV prevention medication (PrEP/PEP) and STI prevention medication.
For those who live far away, we offer telephone consultations and a delivery service.
You can receive care without providing personal information such as your name. The “Medical Expense Notification” will not be delivered to your home either, so you can receive care without your family knowing. (Self-pay care only)
We call patients by number rather than by name. Our consultation rooms are soundproofed, so that conversations cannot be overheard by other patients.
Testing and treatment can be completed on the same day. For self-pay care, medication can be dispensed in-clinic, so there is no need to go to a pharmacy. For insurance-covered care, we can hand you a prescription or mail it to your home, workplace, etc.
Prices (Self-Pay)
Those without subjective symptoms will, in principle, receive self-pay care (care outside insurance coverage).
Prices for self-pay care are calculated using the pricing system below.
(Price) = (Consultation fee) + (Testing fee / Medication fee)
– Consultation fee: first visit 2,500 yen, follow-up visit 1,000 yen (tax included)
– Testing fee / Medication fee: These are listed on the introduction page for each of the prevention medications above.
