Dengue fever has been confirmed across a wide area, so practice mosquito-bite prevention during your stay.
The tetanus vaccine is also effective for about 10 years, so you may want to consider a booster dose (an additional dose).

Precautions During Your Stay
Precautions with Drinking Water and Food
The climate is hot and humid year-round, making it easy for bacteria, mold, etc. to multiply and for food to spoil. Together with causes such as drinking water and insufficiently cooked food, food poisoning, hepatitis A and similar illnesses occur throughout the year.
We recommend mineral water for drinking.
Eat thoroughly cooked food while it is still hot.
Mosquito-Bite Prevention
Dengue fever, which is transmitted by mosquitoes, is prevalent in the Solomon Islands, throughout Vanuatu and on all the islands of Micronesia.
We recommend taking measures to avoid mosquito bites (wearing long sleeves and using insect repellent spray).

Specialist in infectious disease internal medicine, PhD in medicine.
For about 10 years he was engaged in travel medicine and imported infectious disease care at the National Center for Global Health and Medicine Hospital (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), home to Japan's largest travel clinic, and he continues to be involved in activities including clinical practice and research today.
His other areas of specialty are emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and COVID infection, and he works to raise awareness of infectious diseases through a variety of outlets including the media and the internet.
He also sees patients at our clinic as a part-time physician and supervises our Travel Medicine.
